Define & establish rules for packaging codes and group assignments n Define codes for each packaging group n Identify groups of students with common packaging criteria n Identify the specific way awards are made to each packaging group n Define the rules by using the specific attributes of each packaging group

Define packaging options and fund rules n Select options that control the performance of certain functions in the Financial Aid System n Information pertains strictly to the packaging process

Assign and modify a student’s packaging group n Assign a Packaging Group – Manually – On-line automatic assignment using rules – Batch process - ROBBGRP n Modify a student’s packaging group and repackage the award

Award students n Manually award, accept, and/or cancel funds n Manually award a fund to a student’s package

Outside resources n “Other” resources for an applicant – Money paid directly to a student n Reduces gross need

Exemptions and third party contract rules n Indicators set on the Packaging Options Form (RPROPTS) n Interface with Banner Student System Accounts Receivable module n Records reimbursement agreements as a resource to a student’s account

Auto schedule feature n Manual award amount changes may require award schedule adjustment n Aid Period changes for new and revised awards may need to be re-scheduled according to rules – Pell will Auto-reschedule n Adding term to award schedule is valid if it wasn’t there when the schedule was created

Document(s) control n Design and define elements and variables used in Letter Generation n Mass enter award offers, accepts or rejects n Review system indicators to determine generation of awards n Define messages attached to certain groups or funds in Letter Generation

Packaging philosophies 1)GAP - Insures every applicant has unmet need equal to or greater than the defined dollar or percent Defined uniquely for each packaging group 2)EQUITY - Awards fund types of grant or scholarship first during the awarding process 3)SELF-HELP - Awards fund types of loans or work first during the awarding process If defined - the packaging philosophy takes priority over standard awarding process
