7 Importance of Faith/Mental Health Collaboration Mental disorders affect a significant portion of the community and cause significant disability A small percentage of affected individuals actually access services Affected, religious individuals may have unmet needs in current MH system A significant percentage of affected individuals may be accessing services offered by the faith community The faith community may be able to reach individuals with unmet mental health needs and connect them to mental health services

14 Annual Mental Wellness Promotion Service A nationwide observance during the weekend leading into Mental Illness Awareness Week or during Mental Health Awareness Month Services are designed from start to finish to address mental illness and/or mental wellness Screening is conducted during the service Results are used to establish ongoing services and/or to inform the service delivery system
