2 HighWater’s testing experience shows: (over 30 laptops) There is wide variability in how each burning behaves Personal Electronic Device “behaves” unpredictable Translated, this means “unpredictable” unsafe And “unpredictable” translates to “unsafe”

3 Video of aggressive failure

 Easy and simple to use  Eliminates the uncertainty by the flight crew whether the PED fire is out  Minimizes the time the flight crew is in contact with the burning PED  Completely and safely contains:  Fire  Heat  Toxic organic vapors  Smoke from burning plastic  Unpleasant odors  Noise  Panic No flight diversion is necessary  No flight diversion is necessary PlaneGard PED Fire Containment Case 4

1.PlaneGard Case 3.Using the OPEN scoop as a shield, approach the burning PED 4.Close and cover the computer with the SCOOP 5.Slide SCOOP bottom under burning PED 6.PED is captured in the SCOOP without touching the device 5 2.Case Open How it works: 3. Scoop Removed with Gloves / Glasses

6 5.Return SCOOP with burning PED into Case6-7 Close and Latch Case Lid 8. Innovative PlaneGard liquid inlet valve allows liquids from a variety of sources to be poured into the case to stop thermal runaway

8 Our testing has shown that the FAA method (AC120-80) of extinguishing a burning PED will work – eventually (Given enough time and liquid) How much water is enough? This uncertainty creates an unsafe situation!!!! The flight crew cannot “look” at a PED and determine if the thermal runaway condition is stopped. Our testing experience shows a wide variability in how each individual burning PED “behaves”. The flight crew cannot predict this situation. But: TIME is critical!!! But: TIME is critical!!!

10 DOES NOT The FAA procedure DOES NOT address containment or neutralization of the toxic organic vapors emitted from a burning PED. Lithium Ion Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) shows contact with these vapors can cause irritation to eyes, skin, mucous membranes. The odor associated with these vapors is very pungent and noxious. highly flammable PLUS – these vapors are highly flammable and can be ignited by a variety of sources around the burning PED. PLUS: And just as significant:

No other containment case or device on the market allows you to: Retrieve Retrieve the burning PED Minimize Minimize the flight crew contact with the burning PED safepredictablerepeatable Handle each incident in a safe, predictable, and repeatable procedure Isolatecontain Isolate and contain the burning PED Extinguish Extinguish the fire and thermal runaway inside the case Eliminate Eliminate flames, heat, toxic fumes, smoke, noxious odor, noise, panicked passengers Eliminate Eliminate the need to divert the flight 13 United States Patent 8,544,670
