8. 8 Our testing has shown that the FAA method (AC120-80) of extinguishing a burning PED will work – eventually (Given enough time and liquid) How much water is enough? This uncertainty creates an unsafe situation!!!! The flight crew cannot “look” at a PED and determine if the thermal runaway condition is stopped. Our testing experience shows a wide variability in how each individual burning PED “behaves”. The flight crew cannot predict this situation. But: TIME is critical!!! But: TIME is critical!!!
