Why would fermentation be helpful?
If your body couldn’t get oxygen fast enough, it can still make a little energy. If a bacteria is living in an environment with no oxygen, it can still survive.

Sum It Up Respiration and Fermentation both release energy form food.
Respiration needs oxygen. Fermentation does not need oxygen. Fermentation makes VERY LITTLE ATP, so it’s not as efficient as respiration.
