Team Rankings D-B: 12th Science Hill: 13th Tennessee High: 48th The D-B Robotics Team did a great job at Regional Competition in Atlanta, GA!!! They ranked 12th out of 66 teams! They had a great robot, team spirit, and attitude!!

Dobyns-Bennett Freshmen & Sophomore students will attend Career Day @ Northeast State Community College from 8:30-1:30 on Friday, April 17, 2015 Students report to the cafeteria at 8:20. Buses will depart promptly @ 8:30. Lunch will be provided by Northeast State Community College. Students must follow the policies & procedures outlined in the 2014-2015 student handbook. PERMISSION FORMS ARE DUE BY FRIDAY, APRIL 10, 2015

Final round of the 2 nd Annual Tri-Cities Poetry Slam will be hosted by the JC Poets Collective in the OLD SOUTH BALLROOM (formerly The Battery). TODAY (Wed. Apr 8) @ 7:30. Dobyns-Bennett has two of the three finalists competing that evening: Dawn Strobel and Kelli Frawley. Come out and cheer on our D-B slam poets!

Congratulations to Mrs. Haren who was recently recognized as the high school teacher of the year for East Tennessee. This area encompasses all areas east of Knoxville. Mrs. Haren is one of nine high school teachers in the running for the state teacher of the year competition. Best wishes to Mrs. Haren as she continues through this process!

Tickets will be on sale beginning Monday April 13th –Friday April 24th before and after school (ONLY) in the D-B Activities office. Tickets are $25.00 each and financial obligations to D-B and attendance will be verified before tickets will be sold.

D-B’S TARDY / ABSENCE POLICY REMINDER Please remember that participation in prom and graduation ceremony are tied directly to attendance. Students who accrue instances of tardiness or absenteeism greater than 10% of the time in any one class will be ineligible for these activities.

On March 28th all three teams competed at Western Carolina University at CIPA Championships Prep 1st Place with a score of 72.84 JV 2nd Place with a score of 72.21 Varsity 1st Place with an incredible score of 84.62! Congratulations to all 3 teams!

On April 16-19 the DBWG Varsity will travel to Dayton, OH to compete in the Winterguard International World Championships competing against guards from the U.S., Canada, the UK, Japan, the Netherlands, and beyond. The Varsity guard competes in the Scholastic A class with 123 competing teams. They perform at 9:48am in Prelims on Thursday April 16.

D-B Winterguard is hosting a Community Preview and Send Off Thursday April 9 @ 7:00pm Sevier Middle School Each team will perform their competitive programs twice.
