Sustainable Pavement Management Plan AustStab Awards of Excellence 2014 City of Gold Coast Category 3: Innovation or Excellence in Sustainability in pavement stabilisation Sponsored by

Sustainable Pavement Management Plan Create and Implement a Sustainable Pavement Management Plan Vision: to implement a fit-for-purpose sustainable pavement management plan balancing City of Gold Coast economical, social and environmental needs. The Sustainable Pavement Management Plan is about applying cost effective surfacing treatments to structurally sound pavements at the right time to restore an existing road almost to original condition with the potential to achieve a life of 80 years.

Sustainable Pavement Management Plan Sets out the current Pavement Rehabilitation Treatment Selection Process  Determine purpose and scope  Evaluate existing pavement and subgrade  Develop alternative strategies  Design treatments  Select option(s) and make recommendations

Sustainable Pavement Management Plan Pavement Rehabilitation Options Cracksealing Surface rejuvenation Thin asphalt overlay Full depth asphalt Foam bitumen stabilisation Cement stabilisation

Sustainable Pavement Management Plan Sustainability in Asphalt Recycling, The Hot Insitu Pavement Asphalt Recycling (HIPAR) process could achieve cost savings up to 35 percent (environmental & economical sustainability) Example of HIPAR Process. The CoGC has been adopting the HIPAR technology for more than 10 years.
