By: Cami Johnson OPEC is the leading crude oil producer, made up of 12 countries, and working to make fair and stable prices.

OPEC member countries are not just located in the Middle East. By: Cami Johnson In this body of water which is the Persian Gulf lies Kuwait, Qatar, and United Arab Emirates three of OPEC’s countries.

The 2000’s bring Prices in the $75 – over $100! The 1970’s bring Prices in the $43 per barrel. The 1990’s bring Prices in the $15 - $30 per barrel. The 1980’s bring Prices in the $70 then down to $20 per barrel. In 1960 OPEC started. The 1960’s bring Prices in the $17 per barrel. When is it just time to say enough is enough? The U.S. consumes the most oil of any country in the World. At 20 million barrels a day, they are more then 2/3 over China which is the next largest oil consuming country. By: Cami Johnson

The U.S. imports most of its oil from Canada and Mexico. This map shows the percent of where they get all of there oil from.
