2. I. Living a lifestyle of Brokenness causes us to understand the Grace of God in using us. Vs. 1,2

3. 9 What shall we conclude then? Are we any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin. 10 As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one Romans 3:9-12 Pg. 797

4. 11 there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. 12 All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." Romans 3:9-12 Pg. 797

5. 1 How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered! 2 How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity.” Psalm 32:1-2 Pg. 395

6. David didn’t choose God; God chose David and took him from the sheepfolds to shepherd His people

8. II. Living a lifestyle of Brokenness is often filled with being overlooked and rejection vs. 6-11

9. Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? 2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. Isaiah 53:1-7 Pg. 523

10. 3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we esteemed Him not. Isaiah 53:1-7 Pg. 523

11. 4 Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God, smitten by Him, and afflicted Isaiah 53:1-7 Pg. 523

12. 5 But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:1-7 Pg. 523

13. 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all Isaiah 53:1-7 Pg. 523

14. To be a man or woman broken after God’s heart, we must see God’s grace in using us and we must walk daily in total dependence on the Holy Spirit for love and acceptance.

15. III. Living a Lifestyle of Brokenness we must spend time alone with God vs. 19

16. There are two things that happen when we are alone. We are faced with: Our Memory Our Master

17. Brokenness is the process of sanctifying our God given character for His use.

18. Proud people focus on the sins of others; broken people know their own spiritual needs.

19. Proud people need to prove they are right; broken people are willing to yield the right to be right.

20. Proud people claim their rights with a demanding spirit; broken people yield rights with a meek spirit.

21. Proud people desire to be served; broken people are willing to serve others.

22. Proud people have an attitude which says, "The church is lucky to have me in it." But broken people feel this way: "I don't deserve to have any part in this ministry. O how good of God to include me."

23. Proud people keep others at arm's length; broken people are willing to be vulnerable and close to others.

24. Proud people have a hard time saying, "I was wrong and I'm sorry." broken people are quick to confess and are genuinely repentant.

25. Proud People, in a conflict, wait for the other person to apologize; broken people take the initiative to reconcile, regardless of who was at fault.

26. Proud people don't believe they need revival, but are sure everybody else does. broken people continually sense their need for a fresh encounter with God.

27. Proud people compare themselves to others and feel superior; broken people compare themselves to the holiness of God and beg for mercy.

28. Proud people ask why me? Broken people say, why not me?
