4.  The suffering and death of Jesus  Darkness and an earthquake on the day Jesus died –Matthew 27:45,51  One of their own commanders declaring Jesus to be “Son of God” Matthew 27:54  Strictly warned to guard his body Matthew 27:65-66

5.  A second earthquake  An angel descends from heaven, appearance of lighting, dressed in white, rolls back the stone and sits on it!  The guards so frightened they trembled and froze like dead men

6.  They ran!  They went to tell the High Priest what had happened

7.  Believe and repent- Romans 10:9 Acts 16:31- Philippian jailer  Harden your heart- Daniel 7:13 Mark 14:62  Evidence doesn’t matter Luke 16:31

8.  Jesus’ body was never found  Stealing the body highly unlikely!  The obvious change in the disciples Mark 14:66-72 Acts 4: 18-20  Eye witness accounts from both friends and enemies of Jesus (over 500!). I Corinthians 15:3-9

9.  Places Jesus and His teachings on a different level than other great religious teachers/leaders  It confirms the truth of Jesus teachings-”Just like he said” v.6 Mark 8:31;9:30-32;10:32-34  Without the resurrection our faith is worthless I Corinthians 15:17 He literally rose from the dead! I Corinthians 15:20 The First Fruit of the resurrection Leviticus 23:12-13 Ephesians 4:8 John 11:25  Not just future hope but power for today! Ephesians 1:19-20 Colossians 1:20 Christ in you!
