5 Durham – Where Great Things Happen Round 4 Allocation Request: +6.5 mgd  New Jordan Lake intake, treatment, and transmission facilities  Assume online in 2025  Immediate base-load use of Durham’s full 16.5 mgd capacity to meet daily demands  Meet additional demands from existing Neuse Basin sources

6 Durham – Where Great Things Happen Why Jordan Lake?  Minimum environmental impacts The resource already exists  Additional reliability, redundancy, and flexibility for Durham and the Region  Capital costs are competitive with or less than the alternatives  Reduced reliance on the Upper Neuse Basin IBT nearly 3 mgd less in 2045 than today 11 mgd less in 2045 than relying solely on Durham’s Neuse Basin sources for all future needs
