4. 4 The National Hazing Prevention Task Force has been charged with the responsibility of preparing and recommending a strategic plan of action for 2013 – 2015.

9. 9 Develop Relationships with other Organizations  Build alliances – Build an alliance with organizations that share similar goals. Even though an organization may have differing perspectives, experiences and desires, there may be enough commonality to build an alliance and work together.  Involve different professions – Policy makers, business owners, school administrators, attorneys, judges, university officials all have a perspective on this problem and can add to the discussion of the issue.  Involve different cultures – People from various cultural backgrounds bring a different understanding and communication to an issue. Sometimes differing assumptions and viewpoints can create and/or contribute to the discussion.

10. 10 Develop Relationships with other Organizations  Create a trusting, open environment – Foster two-way communication based on listening for and sharing valuable information and by being responsive, respectful, candid and honest.  Show commitment to other organizations and the community – Be involved; invest in the community, show a commitment to work in the community on this issue; use the resources and tools that are available to us.  Appreciate other organizations – Show appreciation for organizations that help us. This will help to continue to develop relationships beyond one issue.
