3 Toly Products Toly Products is a global supplier of high quality plastic packaging components for cosmetic products. Our customers are the world leaders in the cosmetic and fragrance and skin care industries. The company is privately owned and has had a manufacturing base in Malta for the past 40 years. We also have a plant in Shenzhen, China, one in Dehradun, India and an investment in an airless dispensing factory in South Korea. Toly also operates sales and trading offices in London, New York, Paris, Belgium, Italy, Hong Kong, Seoul (South Korea) and India.

8 The projects In choosing our project titles year to year we are typically looking at subject that can be broadly characterised under one of three headings Targeted development. Problem solving. Product design.

9 Targeted Development Scenario: We have a product or product feature that we would like modify in order to improve performance, manufacturability, simplify or reduce cost. Examples: Design for manufacture of a one touch damped opening compact. Design for a universal case lacquering fixture. Design for a cosmetic case manipulator.

11 Problem solving Scenario: a product or process that needs re-engineering in order to perform as designed. Example A camera inspection system for a hot foil printing application.

12 Product Design Scenario: a product feature designed to meet a specific customer consumer or consumer need. Examples Design for emotion in cosmetic packaging Design of a hermetic compact case. Design for manufacture of an applicator system for use by the cosmetic industry.
