Organic chemistry involves studying the molecules of life. These atoms are; carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and a few others. Most organic chemists are concerned with synthesizing new molecules to develop new reactions to make the syntheses more efficient. Organic chemists synthesize things like drugs, flavorings, preservatives, fragrances, plastics, and many others. Biochemistry interferes with organic chemistry because proteins, sugars, fats, and nucleic acids are organic molecules. http://www.uwlax.edu/chemistry/html/ types.htm#Organic

Analytical chemistry is the science of identification and quantification of materials in a mixture. Analytical chemists may invent procedures for analysis, or they modify existing ones. They will sometimes supervise, perform, and interpret the analysis. Students That master in analytical chemistry work for forensics laboratories, environmental or pharmaceutical companies. http://www.uwlax.edu/chemistry/html/ types.htm#Organic

Physical Chemistry is the study of the fundamental physical ways that atoms and molecules behave. Physical chemists study the rates of reactions, how light and matter interact, how electrons are arranged in atoms and molecules, and the stabilities and reactivity's of different compounds and processes. Physical chemists try to understand what is happening on the atomic level. A lot of the current physical chemistry studies on academia combine with the techniques and ideas from several different fields. Some chemists apply physical chemistry techniques to investigate the reactions of organic mechanisms. http://www.uwlax.edu/chemistry/html/ types.htm#Organic

Inorganic chemistry is commonly thought of as those areas with in chemistry that do not deal with carbon. Carbon is very important in lots of inorganic compounds, and there is a whole area of study known as organ metallic chemistry. Organ metallic is truly the hybrid of the traditional disciplines of organic and inorganic chemistry. Important areas of inorganic chemistry are catalysis, materials chemistry, and bioinorganic chemistry. http://www.uwlax.edu/chemistry/html/ types.htm#Organic

Biochemistry is the study of the chemical principles underlying basic biological systems. Fundamentally, biochemical research aims to characterize the link between the structure and function of biological macromolecules. More specifically, biochemical research has provided a more comprehensive understanding in regenerative medicine, infectious disease, organ/ tissue transplantation, clinical diagnostics, and genetic disease. Students who concentrate in biochemistry go on to pursue extremely successful careers in medicine research and business. http://www.uwlax.edu/chemistry/html/ types.htm#Organic
