Introduction hope = the anxious anticipation of good Romans 8:24 For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

I.What They Were INPUT: If you were to pick 12 men to carry your message to the world, who would you choose? Mark 3:13-19

INPUT: What do you learn about God from His choice of servants? INPUT: Why did God do this? 1 Corinthians 1:27-29, So man could not boast

II.What They Could Be The Gospels end hopeful but tentative. The disciples weren’t there yet. They had been given much training, and there was incredible potential.

III.What They Became INPUT: What happened after Pentecost? Acts 1, They were able to function as a unified group without Jesus’ physical presence! Acts 2, They took Jesus’ message of the Gospel to the people of the nations. Acts 5:40, They were persecuted yet remained faithful.

INPUT: Who heard the message of the Gospel through the work of these apostles?

INPUT: Who needs to hear the message of the Gospel? 1 Corinthians 15:3, Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. Romans 3:23-24, Jesus redeemed condemned sinners, for God’s glory. Titus 3:3-8, When we were sinners, God saved us through Jesus, that we might live.
