Schedule 8:20-8:40- Welcome/Morning Work 8:40-9:30- Enrichments 9:30-11:00- Reading 11:00-11:15- Recess 11:15-12:35- Writing 12:35-1:20- Lunch 1:20-2:30- Math 2:30-3:10- Science/Social Studies 3:10-3:30- Wrap Up, Clean UP

Enrichment Schedules The enrichment schedule is on a rotation basis with the following order: Circle- Music Square- 21 st Century Learning (Library) Triangle- ipads Rectangle- P.E. Oval- Art

Communications You will be receiving (at minimum) a monthly newsletter Planner will be daily communication and needs to be signed each night Conferences will occur in the fall as well as in the spring Fall conferences- for every student Spring conferences- as needed

Grading The following grading scale is only for assessments: 4- 100-95% (Advanced Proficient) 3- 80-94%(Proficient) 2- 79-65%(Partially Proficient) 1- 64% and below(Unsatisfactory) All other daily assignments and projects will be based off of a four point rubric or scale

Scale What does it mean? 4-I know and can do it well enough to make connections that weren’t even taught 3- I know and can do everything that was taught without making mistakes 2-I know and can do the easy parts, but I don’t know and can’t do the harder parts without help 1- With my teacher’s help, I know and can do some of what was taught

Homework 20 minutes of reading each night Math practice sheet and/or facts Any un-finished class work Individual homework as needed

Parties We have four parties throughout the school year: Fall Party Winter Party Valentines Day Party End of the year celebration During these party days, the health and wellness allows for flexibilities and treats in the classrooms. Anything brought for this has to be individually wrapped and store bought.

Birthdays We are happy to celebrate birthdays in our classroom No food treats, instead you may bring small toys, pencils, donate a book to the classroom, or lead a classroom game

Oscar’s Night May 14, 2015 Time: TBD Seeking members that want to be on a committee to help plan this evening Fifth graders may bring up to three guests over the age of 18 This is a special night for your fifth grader and you, therefore siblings and guests under the age of 18 are unable to attend Please keep in mind that this is a formal event-no jeans
