WI Standardized Assessments PALS – early literacy screener Testing occurs twice a year for 4K – 2 See schedule for dates by grade level WKCE – Grades 4, 8 and 10 ONLY Science and Social Studies ONLY October 27 – November 7, 2014 Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) Replacing the Wisconsin Alternate Assessment (WAA) ACCESS for ELLs Transitioning to online next year

Smarter Balanced – Grades 3-8 Replacing WKCE for English Language Arts (ELA) & Math March 30 – May 22, 2015 Two parts: a computer adaptive test, and performance tasks that will be taken on a computer but will not be computer-adaptive.

WI Testing Changes for High School Aspire (replaced Explore & Plan) 9th Grade (Fall & Spring), 10th Grade (Spring) Computer based assessment English, Reading Writing, Science, Math ACT – 11th Grade (March) Required for all 11th grade students Free, used as State Assessment Accepted by colleges and universities (if no accommodations or if using ACT approved accommodations)

Also for 2014-15 The 12 th grade has been chosen to take the NAEP (National exam) This will take place around the Jan-Feb timeframe
