We hope that you find this presentation helpful The Export Wizard helps you to transport names, demographic information (race, gender, age group), test scores, and more from the OPAC program to other programs or to locations on your computer where the data can be examined Important! If a test taker has taken the OPAC test more than once, only the most recent score for each test will be exported

8 Copyright © 2009, Biddle Consulting Group, Inc. 8 Hint #2: You can limit the candidates who appear in the field to the right by creating “filters” in the area provided on the left (see above). 4/ 4/09 6/30/09 For example, you can filter by the time frame in which test takers registered the first time they took the OPAC test; by those who tested within a specified time frame; those who tested using a specified AutoTest code; and/or those who took a specific test.

Then, only those who were not filtered out will remain. Note: You do not need to click on “Update List” if you do not filter the names. 11 Copyright © 2009, Biddle Consulting Group, Inc. 11 Choose this option if you wish to use an export design you previously created Choose this option if you wish to create a new export design This screen appears next… Designs are pre-defined export templates that allow Test Administrators to set how data is to be exported. These export templates specify which fields in the OPAC Candidate Database are to be exported, and the order in which they are to be exported. What are designs in the Export Wizard?

13 Copyright © 2009, Biddle Consulting Group, Inc. 13 Choose the fields you wish to appear in the exported data Then click on “Add>” to select those fields into the exported data file Hint: You can hold down the “Ctrl” key on the keyboard to select more than one field at a time to be moved, if you wish This screen appears next…

14 Copyright © 2009, Biddle Consulting Group, Inc. 14 Data fields that will appear in the exported data file appear here after you click on the “Add>” button Click on “Next” after you have selected all of the fields you wish to appear in the exported file IMPORTANT Make certain that you choose only tests that the candidates that are chosen have taken Keep selecting fields into this space until you have chosen all of the data you wish to export Remove fields from the “Selected Fields” list by highlighting the field you wish to remove and clicking on the “<Remove” button

16 Copyright © 2009, Biddle Consulting Group, Inc. 16 Check here if you wish to include the title of each field at the top of the exported data table (This is recommended for ease of use) Click on “Next” when you have made your choices Hint: Due to database limitations, the length of some of the column heading titles may be limited. A document that describes what each heading indicates is available in the OPAC User’s Group web pages… details are provided later in this presentation

17 Copyright © 2009, Biddle Consulting Group, Inc. 17 Choose the location where you want the data file you are exporting to be saved Enter the name you wish to call this exported file Clerical Test Results 7-12-10 Click on the pull-down menu’s down arrow to choose the format type for the data you will be exporting

18 Copyright © 2009, Biddle Consulting Group, Inc. 18 Then choose the format type in which you want to export your data Click on “Save” once you have chosen the format type OPAC data can be exported and saved as: - Tab delimited (.txt) - Comma delimited (.csv) - Microsoft Excel workbook (.xls) - Microsoft Access (.mdb) - FoxPro/dBase (.dbf) Clerical Test Results 7-12-10
