Federation of Business and Professional Women (Singapore) Equal Pay Day (1 June 2013) ◦ Successfully organised an "Equal Pay Day" event with excellent local and foreign speakers that raised the awareness that a disparity in remuneration between men and women still exists in modern Singapore. The aim of the event was to highlight this disparity and emphasise women’s contributions to the economy to organisations so that positive actions may be taken. Women’s Empowerment Principles ◦ 13 April 2012: Meeting with Ministry of Community, Youth & Sports Acting Minister Mr Chan Chun Sing at Ministerial Dialogue where he was presented with a copy of the WEP. ◦ 21 November 2013: SBPWA organised an event, Women Empowerment, Gender Diversity in Top Management: Why aren’t women being hired? An HR perspective which sought to highlight the fact that there are too few women in the boardrooms – an issue that is being regularly raised in Singapore. Main Activities
