S. entrepreneurs start more than 600,000 new businesses annually Private sector business startups account for 3% of employment per year; without startups annual employment gains would be negative Startups with 0-4 employees account for 20% of new jobs; larger startups (250-499) account for 1.3% of new jobs. Startups remain robust even in recessions
