David Cameron welcomes first gay marriages Gay marriage will make British society stronger, David Cameron has insisted as an historic change to the meaning of matrimony comes into effect. Mr Cameron said the introduction of same-sex marriage in England and Wales - after a debate which bitterly divided his own party and pitted church against state - was a tribute to “the sort of country we are”. Writing in PinkNews, the gay and lesbian website, he said the redefinition of marriage was in keeping with Britain’s “proud traditions of respect, tolerance and equal worth”. But opponents of the change said it had “ripped up” the centuries-old understanding of marriage and divided the country. New polling seen by The Telegraph also shows that the issue could cost the Conservatives significant votes in the local and European elections in May. Daily Telegraph, March 28, 2014 EVENT COMMENT The earth suffers for the sins of its people, for they have twisted God’s instructions, violated his laws, and broken his everlasting covenant. Therefore, a curse consumes the earth. Its people must pay the price for their sin. They are destroyed by fire, and only a few are left alive. BIBLE QUOTE (Isaiah 24:5-6 NLT) The very first legal gay marriage ceremony anywhere in the world was in the Netherlands in 2001. Today Britain becomes the 14 th country to allow gay marriage and ceremonies started at midnight. The UK prime minister said this morning "Congratulations to the gay couples who have already been married - and my best wishes to those about to be on this historic day.” It is indeed an historic day for Britain. It is a day when the depravity of homosexual behaviour was not only tolerated, not only promoted to our children but finally brought into the most sacred of religious services. Marriage. Marriage was instituted by God not man. It was God who designed it as the bedrock of civilisation. It was also symbolic of Christ and the ecclesia – God’s ultimate plan and purpose. We read in Isaiah 24 of the final judgement of the entire world. One of the 3 accusations is (as one modern version says) the people have “twisted God’s instructions”. This week Britain certainly has….

Presbyterian Assembly: Gay Marriage Is Christian The top legislative body of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has voted by large margins to recognize same-sex marriage as Christian in the church constitution, adding language that marriage can be the union of "two people," not just "a man and a woman.” The amendment approved Thursday by the Presbyterian General Assembly requires approval from a majority of the 172 regional presbyteries, which will vote on the change over the next year. But in a separate policy change that takes effect at the end of this week's meeting, delegates voted to allow ministers to preside at gay weddings in states where the unions are legal and local congregational leaders approve. Nineteen states and the District of Columbia recognize same-sex marriage. The votes, during a national meeting in Detroit, were a sweeping victory for Presbyterian gay-rights advocates. Associated Press, June 19, 2014 EVENT COMMENT “Haven’t you read the Scriptures?” Jesus replied. “They record that from the beginning ‘God made them male and female.’ And he said, “‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.” BIBLE QUOTE (Matthew 19:4-6 NLT) This is a sign we are truly in the very last days. These are people who purportedly read the Bible, worship God and accept Christ as their saviour. And yet they have come to the conclusion that a homosexual marriage is Christian. A Christian is someone who professes belief in Jesus as Christ and lives a life based on the life and teachings of Jesus. So what did Jesus say about marriage? He said “Haven’t you read that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So Jesus clearly states marriage is between a man and a woman. Not a man and a man. In the same passage Jesus uses the word “porneia”. Porneia according to Strong’s concordance means any adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, beastiliality etc. A man marrying a man therefore is NOT Christian behaviour – it is godless…

Global surge In terrorist attack deaths Terror attacks are found to have almost doubled in the space of a year, resulting in the deaths of some 18,000 people. The number of people who lost their lives in terror attacks worldwide increased by 61% between 2012 and 2013, a global terrorism study has found. According to the latest Global Terrorism Index (GTI) the number of deaths rose from 11,133 to 17,958 a year later. The surge can be attributed to a "significant" increase in the number of terrorist atrocities. The second annual study found there were almost 10,000 terrorist attacks in 2013, a 44% rise on the year before. Most were the result of explosive devices, although suicide attacks accounted for 5%.Iraq was once again the hardest-hit, with 6,362 terror-related fatalities recorded in 2013. That marked a devastating 164% increase on the previous year. Sky News, November 18, 2014 EVENT COMMENT The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; BIBLE QUOTE (Genesis 6:11-13) We live in the time of terror. So said a Whitehouse spokesman a few years ago. We almost get accustomed to suicide bombings, mass killings and beheadings, explosions and death. Although there have throughout history been suicide attacks they were very few and far between. Suicide attacks truly gained global notoriety on July 3rd, 1983 when a new group called Islamic Jihad killed 299 US forces in Lebanon. The number of suicide attacks has grown significantly, from an average of less than five a year in the 1980s to 180/year in 2001-2005, and from 81 suicide attacks in 2001 to 460 in 2005. We are truly seeing an explosion of violence around the world. Jesus said we would we see this. He said that men’s hearts would fail them for fear (Greek word for terror) just before he returned. He also said that the world would be like the days of Noah before he returned. The world at the time of Noah we are told in Genesis was full of violence…
