Most Hopewell settlements, and the largest burial mound, were in Ohio and Illinois

They used thatched roofs and rectangular homes

The men and boys had Mohawks and they wore ornaments too. The women wore the same clothes and their hair pinned up in bones or wooden dowel with a bow.

They were not full time farmers they ate nuts, squash, and seeds from plants they were hunters to they ate wild animals, birds, and fish

Hopewell people spoke either various dialects of the same language or different languages this is unclear as there is no evidence that the Hopewell people wrote
