Create three folders in the root of the drive in which you normally work 1)epidataThis folder will contain EpiData software (both EpiData Entry and EpiData Analysis) 2)tempThis will be a folder, where we temporarily deposit stuff before doing something with it. It should generally be empty and not ever contain anything important! 3)epidata_courseThis is where we will do all the work during the course

3. How to install Epidata (if you have administrator rights) Go to internet, enter: http://www.epidata.dkwww.epidata.dkwww.epidata.dk Go to download/EpiData Entry and /EpiData Analysis and save the two respective setup files to the /temp folder Login as administrator, install EpiData entry and EpiData Analysis into the EpiData folder you created already, following the instructions and create a quick launch icon

4. How to install Epidata (if you do not have administrator rights) Go to the course folder “Software” Get the zip file and unzip it to any place on your computer (we strongly recommend the root of the drive in which you usually work) Isn’t that simple?

12. Other things to set up before we begin.. Set your system language to English (your preferred English) – but set date to dd/mm/yyyy format Accessing help file – If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7 as your operating system, you will need to install Microsoft plug-in!
