Inspect Cu Block pads for flatness using a spare SiC Substrate 2.Attach to 2.75” CF Flange 3.UHV CLEAN 1 STEP 1:STEP 2: 1.Install Clock & Bias board by gently wrapping Flex Assy around Cu block – note lower mounting tabs for proper orientation. 2.Attach to the Cu block using 2 #6 Button head screws as shown. Do not tighten screw – C&B board should float in place. 2 AND OPPOSITE MNT HOLE Bare 1K-FS Cu Cooling BlockClock & Bias Board Installation UHV CLEANESD SENSITIVE

3 ASSEMBLY DRAWING: 1kFSCCD STD CAMERA HEAD DWG NUMBER : Rev: A DATE: STEP 3: Sensor/Top Board Installation 1.SENSOR mounted on the TOP Board can be damaged by ESD – Proper handling is extremely important from this point and in all following assembly steps.. 2.NOTE: Wire bonds are exposed on the component side of the TOP board assembly. 3.Install TOP board – set assembly, component side down and couple connectors to the C&B board connectors 4.Place a Diamond Insulator on each of the 4 Cu block fingers, and align it with the TOP board assembly with an appropriate pin (can be a screw, do not tighten) 5.Insert a 2-56 x 1” screw with a wide washer and nut attached, in each of the mounting holes of the TOP board to C&B board connectors (4x) and twist them in until the screw bottoms out into the C&B board connector, Be sure that the nut and washer are loose on the SiC side of the TOP board assembly. The screws will put the connectors into alignment. 6.Gently tighten all 4 of the nuts against the TOP board assembly. Using an open end wrench, slowly tighten all 4 nuts, rotating from nut to nut after ~ ½ turn per point, until the connectors are fully seated. 7.Remove all of the insertion screws, and return to the assembly tool kit 4 4x Diamond Insulator 5 4x NOTE: The connectors will come together very easily with the insertion tool – DO NOT FORCE. If there is resistance to the insertion, stop the process, separate the connectors and inspect for issues Measure the following: 1.R between the SiC and Cu Block 2.R between V SUB and VDDOUT 3.R between V SUB and GND 4.N EDGE to GND (J3 & J4, pins 84 & 85) 5.N EDGE to V DDOUT (J3 & J4, pins 84 & 83) 6.J3 & J4 Shell to Cu block 7.SiC to V DDOUT UHV CLEANESD SENSITIVE

The connector will come together very easily with the insertion tool – DO NOT FORCE. If there is resistance to the insertion, stop the process, separate the connectors and inspect for issues 6.Remove all of the insertion screws, and repeat for fCRIC Digitizer board on opposite side of the assembly. If both boards have been installed, return the tooling fixture to the assembly tool kit 3 UHV CLEANESD SENSITIVE

Successively snug each screw until all are lightly tightened. Then back-off each screw by one-quarter turn. Measurement the continuity between the SiC Top-Board and Copper cooling block which should be an open-circuit. The resistance from the SiC to the Heater bars should be open. UHV CLEAN Frame Store Shield 1.Set Frame Store Shield Assembly into the imaging widow area on the top of the Camera Head assembly. 2.Lightly secure using 2-56 x ½ inch button head screws 3.Attach Kapton PT100 RTD (Minco #...) to the TOP board as noted. Bend the leads over the edge of the camera head and secure with a small piece of ½ inch wide Kapton tape. 4.Secure Heater wires in the same way. RTD Location ESD SENSITIVE Spacer 2x

9 ASSEMBLY DRAWING: 1kFSCCD STD CAMERA HEAD DWG NUMBER : Rev: A DATE: STEP N+1: Immersion Probe Installation Information Immersion chiller probe Copper cooling block Lubricate probe and camera bore with a very thin film (~0.0005”) of Apiezon “N” cryogenic vacuum grease. O-Ring, 2-027, Silicone Immersion probe, Polyurethane retaining spring. Install onto camera after installing Immersion chiller probe and before making CF flange connection. Fill this void to limit the build-up of ice. Immersion probe installation. Install a lubricated (Apiezon “N”) Immersion probe into the camera bore to a point where the o-ring engages the probe body. Attached a hand operated vacuum pump to this port and apply vacuum until the probe is seated. No additional load should be applied to the probe for installation. To remove probe apply a minor gas pressure to this port. To remove a probe which has become jammed in the camera; fill the volume of this tube and the space between the probe and the copper cooling block with water, attach a hydraulic pump and apply pressure (if hydraulic fluid is used in the pump, a double acting hydraulic cylinder can be inserted between the pump and the camera to isolate the two fluids).
