Benchmark Reading A Balanced Approach to Reading Shared Reading, Guided Reading, Independent Reading, Read-A-Loud We test with IRR throughout the year to assess reading level State Reading test = beginning of year IRR

Benchmark Writing Students will learn the writing process. Students will write a longer pieces. Students will use capital letters correctly. Students will learn to use correct grammar in simple sentences. Student will learn different writing genres including narratives, expository writing, argumentative writing, and letters.
