Intrinsic or Extrinsic Motivation What you want to accomplish from your education can determine whether you are predominantly internally or externally motivated. If you have a dream of being an artist or a nurse you might be more internally motivated to achieve your goals. If you want a high paying job in the business or engineering field you might be more externally motivated to achieve your goals. 9

Motivation Intrinsic motivation can help you be even more academically successful because you set the standards by which you judge your performance. you have a sense of self-satisfaction when you do your best. your desire to attain your goals will continue even without an external motivator. 13
