OVERTIME PROCEDURES

Overtime Procedures Teams return to team boxes. 3 Minute intermission. Officials assemble at the 50 (carry over penalties?). No chains, box only. R & U meet w/ head coaches & captains in center of field to explain procedures. Coin toss – visiting team calls the toss. Winner gets choice of Offense or Defense first or designating the end of the field.

Overtime Procedures Loser has choice of other options. Referee places hand on shoulder pad of winner. “R” has team on Defense have his back to his own goal line. “R” has team on Offense face opponents goal line and signals first down.

Overtime Procedures Each team has One (1) overtime series. Team scoring more points at the end of the period (series for A and series for B) wins. To start, team A puts ball in play on B’s 10 yard line, unless penalty carry over makes it otherwise. A may place the ball on the 10 anywhere between the inbound lines (hash marks.)

Overtime Procedures Team A shall have a series of four downs. Series terminates with a score by A or possession by team B. If A scores a touchdown, they have the opportunity for a “Try” unless the points do not affect the outcome of the game. A field goal may be attempted on any down.

Overtime Procedures If team B gains possession, the series is over for A. After A has possession, Team B is given their series. The same end of the field will be used for both teams for the period. If score remains tied after each team’s series, there is a two (2) minute break.

Overtime Procedures No coin toss but team that lost first coin toss is given choices. For subsequent periods, alternate first choice. Team A receives a new series for: DPI Recovery of a kick 1 st touched by B beyond LOS. Roughing kicker, passer, snapper or holder is assessed against B.

Overtime Procedures If Team B scores a safety, the game is over. No try is attempted if the winner of the game is determined. PSK does not apply. The Line To Gain is always the goal line.
