Planning for Scoring Collaborative/Regional Scoring Facilitated In-District Scoring Scorers/Subs

Collaborative/Regional Scoring The Regional scoring model has teachers coming together at the scoring site, receiving scoring training and working together to grade randomized papers from each district represented in the group.

District Responsibilities Package assessments according to the Nassau BOCES preparation of boxes for delivery Deliver box/boxes of completed assessments to designated Nassau BOCES site Provide scorers (approx.) Grades 3, 5 - 2 per 100 papers Grade 7 – 4 per 100 papers Grade 4 - 5 per 100 papers Grades 6, 8 – 6 per 100 papers Pick-up box/boxes of scored papers Note: scorers must have qualified at the at the Nassau BOCES training for scoring this assessment

Nassau BOCES responsibilities Randomize and derandomize papers Notify district for pick-up of box of scored papers Deliver scantron sheets to Nassau BOCES RIC Provide continental breakfast and lunch each day Provide administration of the process Coordination of participating districts Meet with staff of participating districts Organization of papers Facilitation of scoring Trained listening/writing and reading scoring leader Supplies Packaging of scantrons for transport to Nassau BOCES RIC on designated day.

Facilitated In-District Scoring The Facilitated In-District scoring model has a scoring consultant from Nassau BOCES to facilitate the scoring process within the district, providing assistance with: scheduling, training, movement of student papers, back reads, data input and packaging of scantrons for transport to Nassau BOCES Regional Information Center.

Cost Collaborative/Regional Scoring (minimum number of papers from participating districts 3,000) ($350.00 for each unfilled scorer position) $3.50 per paper for Grades 4, 6, and 8 $3.10 per paper for Grades 3, 5, and 7 Facilitated In-District Scoring $1,440.00 1 facilitator for 1 ½ days
