Acne is the most common skin disorder in the U.S. It is characterized by pimples on the face, chest, and back. It occurs when the pores of the skin become clogged with oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria.
Acne is common during puberty when a person is turning from a child to an adult, because of high levels of hormones.

Propionibacterium acnes or Acne vulgaris
In most cases it is caused by bacteria entering your pores.
These bacteria produce molecules which incite an immune response, leading to inflammation and acne symptoms.
