3  Seventh son of a seventh son *supernatural powers  Four-leaf clovers  Horseshoe over the front door *keeps luck in the house

4  Bay leaves under pillow* dream of future husband  Say “God Bless You” when sneeze

5  Shoes on the table invite death  Peacock feathers (evil-eye)

6  Eclipse was seen as a bad omen  Walking under ladders

7  Witches were ugly hags  Black cats were bad luck in general

8  They were able to fly  Witches kept many animals as pets

9  Good luck superstitions, bad luck superstitions, and witch superstitions are the three most important types of Elizabethan superstitions.  Millions of people across the world still believe in many of the superstitions I talked about today!
