What is Safe Church? Safe Church replaces the 1993 PCV policy known as ‘Breaking The Silence’

What is Safe Church? Safe Church aims to ensure the Policy and Code of Conduct are embedded in the life and ministry of the PCV

What is Safe Church? It does this by providing... A contact point for queries and issues Regular training sessions Well defined policy, practice and procedures

What is Safe Church? Safe Church applies to... Everyone who works with children under 18 Everyone in a position of authority or leadership

Basic Training covers everything you need to know about the Safe Church Policy and Code of Conduct

Basic training is... Offered to all presbyteries in 2015 Required, every 3 years, for people in leadership and working with children under 18 About 3 hours in length What is Safe Church Basic Training?

Basic Training Calendar 2015 21 st February – Melbourne East Presbytery @ Surrey Hills PC 7 th March – Kilnoorat Presbytery @ King’s College Warrnambool 21 st March – Benalla Presbytery @ Tatura PC 18 th April – Melbourne North Presbytery @ Bundoora PC 2 nd May – North West Victoria Presbytery, Mildura region @ Sunraysia PC, Mildura 16th May – Ballarat Presbytery – location to be announced 23rd May – Geelong Presbytery @ Geelong West PC 6th June – North West Victoria Presbytery @ Bendigo PC 20th June – Maroondah Presbytery @ Donvale PC 18 th July – Flinders Presbytery @ Clarinda PC 1 st August – Melbourne West Presbytery – location to be announced 22 nd August – Gippsland Presbytery @ Morwell PC Calendar available at www.safechurchpcv.org.au/training-dates Please register your attendance with the Safe Church Unit All sessions commence at 9.30am and conclude at 12.30pm
