2 Student of the Week SENIOR: Senior Daisy Gonzalez demonstrates the core value of kindness. She maintains a positive attitude, is encouraging to her classmates and pushes them to work hard. JUNIOR: Junior Thawng Bik always shows kindness to people even when he is busy. SOPHOMORE: Sophomores Navy Butler shows desire by always keeping a positive attitude about school. FRESHMAN: Freshman Marion Dearstyne and Sky Slaughter show desire for academic excellence being the top 2 freshman to pass the THEA practice test.

3 Teacher of the Month Mrs. Lee shows kindness towards her coworkers by voluntarily covering classrooms when in need. She is always on time to work and has a kind word and smile for everyone she meets. Mrs. Lee is a graduate of Midwestern State University and we are proud to have her with our team.

5 October is Cancer Awareness Month Support Breast Cancer Awareness…Wear Pink on Wednesdays all this Month Know the Facts Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. Breast cancer is the leading cause of death in women. (lung cancer is first) Breast cancer is the most common cancer among all populations. (skin cancers is first) Breast cancer is less common but more aggressive in women under age 50.
