5. Animals  There are many farms animals: cows, chickens, sheep and pigs.

6. Rivers  Kansas has two large rivers: the Arkansas River and the Missouri River.

7. Land  There are many grasslands (plains) in Kansas.  There are few forests in Kansa

8. Precipitation – rain and snow Kansas gets about 28 inches of precipitation each year.

9. Kansas has four seasons: winter, spring, summer, fall

10. Cities  There are no big cities in Kansas.  Topeka is the capital city.  Wichita is the largest city.

11. Factories  Kansas has a few factories  There are some factories that make plane parts.

12. Transportation  There is not much public transportation in Kansas. Most people drive cars.  The cities of Topeka and Wichita do not have much public transportation.

13. Unions  Kansas does not have many unions.  Red states have few unions, blue states have many unions.

14. Election  Kansas voted for Romney in the 2012 election.
