9  “Screencast” term was coined in 2004 by tech columnist Jon Udell.  A screencast is a digital video and audio recording of what occurs on a presenter’s computer screen or recording a PowerPoint presentation with programs like TechSmith’s Camtasia.  Screencast videos (MP4) have emerged as THE teaching tool for online instruction.
