3. 3/11 How? For experiential transcoding, we need to be able to understand and predict users’ needs and requirements but how can we do this? We user eyetracking data but we can possibly use: –Log data on servers? –User’s interaction patterns? –Coping strategies? –Mining daily activities, etc.

4. 4/11 Eyetracking Approach Eyetracking studies generate enormous amount of data! –Scanpaths are repetitive sequences of fixations and saccades that occur upon a visual stimulus. In our project, called eMine (http://emine.ncc.metu.edu.tr/), –mines the eye tracking data to identify scanpaths and –relate them to visual elements of web pages and the underlying source code –web pages can be transcoded to provide better user experience to disabled and mobile web users.
