6 Provides consistent prayer support to insure our clinic is a work of the Spirit of God, bringing glory and honor to Jesus Christ and compassion to people. Objectives: Recruit volunteers to pray Solicit prayer requests from teams Identify community prayer needs Organize and Lead prayer and worship events Maintain communication between prayer team network and team leaders Prayer Team

7 Provides leadership in coordinating a team of warm, inviting people who demonstrate the love of Jesus through their kindness and servant hearts. Their primary job is to make guests who attend feel loved and honored. As much as the Lord allows, this team is to build ongoing relationships with patients so that lives are inspired and touched beyond the event. Objectives: Recruit general volunteers Organize general volunteers Provide food for volunteers the day of the event Plan and purchase tee shirts Hospitality Volunteer Coordination Team

8 The Medical team provides leadership in pulling together the medical people and equipment necessary to meet the patient’s basic health care needs within the clinics. They are dedicated to continuing the healing work of Jesus, beyond the body, to the heart, mind, and soul of people precious to God and to us. Objectives: Medical Volunteer Recruitment Flow of attendees in regard to triage and medical records Assemble necessary clinic equipment Identify and collect prescription assistance Set standards for type of services offered Coordinate with referral organizations Maintain medical record system Coordinate with other cooperating clinics and organizations Medical Team

9 The Dental team provides leadership in pulling together Dentists, Hygienists, Assistants and equipment necessary to meet the patient’s basic dental care needs within the scope of the clinic’s ability. More than fixing teeth, this team ministers to the people with the healing power of Jesus Christ. Objectives: Recruit Dentists and Dental offices Coordinate with NW Medical Teams van and volunteers Set up mobile dental units at the clinic Establish guidelines for the scope of dental services Pre-assign patients for morning appointments Screen patients for most effective ministry Dental Team

10 This team provides interpreters to the health care, intake, and social services, showing kindness and compassion to those served. They are a thread between cultures that stitches the community together. Objectives: Recruit and schedule interpreters Plan for Spanish and Russian interpreters Interpreters Team

11 Designs and implements ways of providing food and drink to Compassion North Portland clients and volunteers. Objectives: Determine food sources (restaurant donation, team food prep, catering) Obtain funding to cover food costs Provide food for clients and volunteers the day of the event Staff dining area the day of the event Food Team

12 The children’s ministry team provides a safe place for kids to do what they do best, be kids. Staffed with caring, high-quality volunteers, this team leads children to experience activities they will want to share with their whole family. Objectives: Provide check-in security system Design and lead games that involve the children in activity while they wait. Supervise presentations such as puppets or sketches. Conduct crafts that teach values to the children in a fun, active environment. Children’s Area Team

13 This team coordinates the booths and presentations at the fair, making the event as useful and festive as possible. Objectives : Recruit agencies to participate Communicate with them the schedule and layout of fair Develop seminar schedule Social Service Fair Team

14 Their primary goal is to welcome guests with a friendly greeting and helpful directions. They set the tone for every other experience the guest will receive. Objectives: Organize volunteers to handle parking and security Layout parking lot for mobile vans Parking/Security Team

15 They assemble a team of vans and drivers that transport people from the school to various clinics around the area. They build relationships making those who attend feel special. This one trip may be what God uses to tell them they are deeply loved. Objectives: Schedule rotating vehicles that all have friendly drivers Coordinate with dental team leaders Organize vans to pick up attendees from checking to dental offices Shuttle Service Team

16 This team will recruit, train, and mobilize an army of volunteers that will compassionately follow-up and build relationships that enhance and encourage the whole person as a necessary part of the vitality of our community. Objectives: Develop a program of volunteers that assure attendees get to their follow-up visits. Develop a program that connects churches, Compassion Connect, and individuals with the people who attend our clinic. Follow up on patients needing on-going health care Follow Up Coordination Team

17 The Public Relations team is the voice of North Portland Compassion Clinic. They passionately represent the efforts of hundreds of people. No progress will be made without this team saying it well. In doing so, they dare to stand next to the throne of God and declare, “You are loved by the King of Kings.” Objectives: Create the pamphlets, fliers, and other paper items Create press release information Organize community notification Communicate with local media to get the word out Document the event Public Relations Team

18 This team assembles to create a financial force that more than meets the needs; it moves the observer to worship! This team magnifies the name of Jesus through such God honoring giving and spending that it brings praise to the work of the Spirit of God. Objectives: Develop and operate an accounting procedure Create and manage budget Fundraising Secure event insurance policy Financial Team

19 This team models a sacrifice of love for Jesus and people through their cheerful labor setting up rooms, hauling medical equipment, and keeping the grounds in a manner of cleanliness that honors Christ and blesses the school. Objectives: Communicates with all other coordinators to assess needs Gets tables and other equipment rounded up and set up Handles set up and tear down organization Directs clean up crews Equipment Management Team
