3. How to download Tableau reader
To view the interactive Tableau dashboards members will need to download the Tableau Reader.
The reader is free and you only need to download it once (like you would do for the Adobe reader).
The step-by-step instructions that follow refer to the link opened in the Firefox browser.

1. Tableau Reader has been tested and is supported on 64-bit Windows versions. Tableau is a 32-bit application and does require 32-bit versions of the database drivers, even when running on 64-bit versions of Windows.

4. How to download Tableau reader
To view the interactive Tableau dashboards members will need to download the Tableau Reader. The reader is free and you only need to do this once.
The step-by-step instructions below refer to the link opened in the Firefox browser.
Copy and paste link/Click on link to download free tableau reader.
1. Click DOWNLOAD
2. Click ‘Save File”

5. 3. Click on Down arrow in top right hand corner (Display the progress of ongoing downloads) and then click on
TableauReader-32bit.exe/-64bit.exe/mac
4. Click ‘Run’

6. 5. Click/check box ‘I have read and accept the terms of the License agreement) and then click ‘Install’
6. Wait while it installs it should take just a minute or two.

7. 7. Click on Register
8. Type in the information below:
First name: Dash
Last name: Board
Organisation: Tourism Vancouver
address type:
Select BC as province
Select Canada as county

8. 9. Click ‘Continue’
The Tableau Reader will now be saved to your computer (you will not need to download the Tableau Reader again) and you will be able to open the updated STR Dashboard tableau file each month.
As these are interactive dashboards, with new data being added monthly, you need to open and resave the updated dashboard tableau file every month.
Each month a new tableau file will be saved to the Members Extranet with the most current 2014 YTD data, a notice will go out in eNews advising members.
Each Dashboard, under ‘Month’ indicates the reference month i.e. ‘Data Through April, 2014’
