1. About 50 bikers gathered at a Wal-Mart in North Little Rock for the PGR support of Memorial Day. The Sherwood Police provided escort services to the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery about two miles away.

2. One of the riders brought his brand new “chopper” that Honda recently introduced: 1300 CCs, it makes for a nice looking hot rod cruiser.

4. A new Can-Am “Spyder” was sure interesting to see; the riders said the reversed three-wheeler “rode like a dream.”

17. After the governor’s remarks and tributes to various military and civic organizations, the names of Arkansas vets who died in 2009 were read. Then, the Marine Rifle Squad fired three volleys and came to the Present Arms position.

18. The rifle squad prepares to fire the volleys as the trumpeter awaits. Following the volley, the young man plays “Taps” to conclude the day.

19. After the official ceremony, some wreaths were tossed into a pool near the pavilion—to commemorate those lost at sea.

An elderly wheelchair-bound veteran attending the ceremony receives a handshake and a sincere thank you from someone who appreciated all the man did for his country.
