Brief Facts on Fiji Islands Area: 18,376 sq km (7056 sq miles) Population: approximately 854,000 people made up of indigenous Fijians (50%), Indians (47%) with Europeans, Chinese and South Pacific Islanders making up the remaining 3%. As per UN survey 2005. Religion: Majority a Christianity, small percentage are Muslim, Hinduism. Capital: is the Suva city located in the eastern part of the main Viti Levu island.
