Do’s and Dont’s - How to Prevent Troubles iConnect / CommPact
2
iConnect – Installation and Location
The location of the control panel is critical for the installation’s success. The location in basement or concrete room is not recommended! RF RSSI level (noises) should be as low as possible. To take into consideration the RF signal strength of the wireless devices

iConnect – Installation and Location
Do not locate the control panel close to Electro- magnetic sources (computers, fax machine, Electrical cabinet, Routers and etc). 3 3

iConnect – Installation and Location
In case of electric power outage for few days, back up battery becomes totally empty. Rarely, the battery becomes totally empty. In order to wake the battery up, it’s required to insert and remove the battery connector a few times (10-15 times) to the main board. 4 4

The Wireless devices – Location and Installation
Wireless devices Batteries Due to the occurrence of voltage delay in lithium batteries that have been in storage, the batteries may initially appear to be dead. In this case, leave the unit in Test mode for a few minutes OR press on the tamper switch a number of times until the battery voltage level is stabilized. 8 8

The Wireless devices – Location and Installation
Battery - Date of production is something that installer must pay attention to. Battery with a date of production which is more than 2 years isn’t recommended for installation. May of 2011 9 9

The Wireless devices – Location and Installation
The Signal strength level of the wireless device, must be with level 5 and above. When installing the detector on the wall, make sure that the screw isn’t sticking out. 10 10

The Wireless devices – Location and Installation
If there is a suspicion of transmissions’ loss from the device OR supervision loss event occurs in panel, radio test needs be performed. Every 8 seconds, signal will send to panel. Each signal will be heard by number of tones 11 11

The Wireless devices – Location and Installation
Why can’t the Wireless device be registered in the control panel? The device had already been registered. The zone is defined as ‘Use Repeater’. The battery is empty. The battery is inverted. The back tamper of the device is opened. Noisy area (RF RSSI Level=9). The RF frequency is different (868/433MHz). 12 12

Curtain detector – EL2650XL
Avoid placing the detector in an area exposed to sunlight coming in through the window. For night arming make sure that the user will keep a distance from the detector’s coverage: 13 13
14
Curtain detector – EL2650XL
By quickly reaching out the hand into the coverage area and pulling it back, may cause a false alarm. Distance from the window/wall: at least 5cm: 14 14

Magnetic Contact EL-2601 The detector on the frame
The magnetic on the window Wrong installation – Supervision loss may occur. Wrong installation – Supervision loss may occur. 15 15

Communication Troubles
Solution Reason for the trouble Trouble Message Protocol[95112] = IP Interface[95113] = LAN or GPRS Account 1 Protocol[95112] ≠ IP interface[95113] ≠ LAN or GPRS No Message Replace the module Communication module is faulty Device Trouble LAN/GPRS module - Check the cable network/SIM card. - SIM card with low signal - Check with the service provider No internet connection Media Loss – LAN/GPRS Check with the IT manager regarding the DHCP settings. If required insert the relevant parameters at address [95771], [95772] and [95773] Panel doesn't get DHCP from the network DHCP Error 1. Check with the service provider the connection 2. Check that port is opened with the IT manager 3. Check that the parameters are correct 1.Problems at the service provider network 2. Firewall 3. Wrong parameters had been configured (IP address, CP ID, CP Password XML fail Change the interface/s of according to the insttaled module one or more of the interfaces (of accounts, RP, speed dials and service call) are configured with interface which doesn't exist Program Correct interface Presentation name
