2.  To protect yourself and equipment, never tamper with or remove any power cords or cables (including mouse and keyboard)  To safeguard yourself and equipment, never insert a foreign object into a disk drive or any other part of the computer.

3.  To protect your self and equipment, never attempt to restart or reset equipment without permission.  Never hit a machine, smash a mouse, or abuse a button or key.  Never tamper with or attempt to disrupt a computer’s operating system.

4.  Never attempt to use someone else’s password to access the site network or internet.  Never give out personal information over the internet.  Print only with permission from the teacher.

5.  Position keyboards to prevent bumping or dropping them off the work surface.  Avoid blocking air vents to prevent overheating.  No food or drinks near the computers.

6.  DO NOT open the computer’s power supply or monitor. This could cause serious injury to you or others.  Always shut down the computer via Window’s start button.

7.  Make sure you are aware of the School’s Acceptable Use Policy.  Student’s will avoid internet sites with inappropriate content.  Student’s will not access the computer’s control panel.

8.  Please let the instructor know if the color scheme, font size, or other settings of your computer are causing strain on your eyes.  Periodically glance away from the screen. Staring into a computer monitor too long will strain your eyes.

9.  Maintain good posture to ease your back.  Be aware of the fire exists and the location of the room’s fire extinguishers.
