Our project is designed to prevent many kind of pollutant that can contaminate our drinking water sources, reduce oxygen levels can kill fish and other wildlife accumulate in the tissue of fish we catch and eat from the lakes reduce the beauty of the water We will be able to filter out all the following pollutant throughout our chemical, electrical, and filtration stages that the water will go through:
2
mainly, human and animal waste Organic carbon bacteria. atmospheric pollution and acid rain consume all available oxygen, and kill all aquatic life.
3
Phosphates, nitrates human-added in water 80 percent of nitrates 75 percent of phosphates Algae the water turn green cloudy smelly 10,000 years, but pollution can make the process occur 100 to 1,000 times faster the lake ages and becomes more nutrient-rich
4
Cleaners paints solvents one drop of used motor oil can pollute 25 liters of water! in our gardens and lawns we tend to use ten times more pesticide per acre than a farmer would
5
Medications lotions and soap act as hormone disrupters may be partially responsible for an increase in cancer
6
Environmental benefits EPA requirement the need for clean drinking water
7
Pollution abatement Protection of downstream water resources Water quality improvements/reduced treatment costs
8
EPA has proposed guidance to clarify the permitting requirements for blended discharges from publicly owned treatment works (POTWs) under wet weather flow conditions. The proposed rules would, in effect, provide a legal basis for authorizing the discharge of untreated sewage into our nation's waterways
9
one percent of the earth surface water is accessible and drinkable fresh water between 2 and 5 million people die annually from unhealthy water two-thirds of the world's population is likely to face some type of intermittent water shortages by 2025 We are dumping our waste and toxics in it, turning it from a treasure to a curse that brings us diseases and pollution??!!!!!! Great Lakes Basin, of the U.S. and Canada, accounts for about 18 percent of the global fresh water
