Unit 3 - Vocabulary aggressive - ready to attack oppress - to treat badly brute - cruel or brutal person representation - speaking on someone's behalf mercantilism - colonists are a source of income for the “mother country”

Unit 3 - Vocabulary raw materials -natural resources such as iron, oil and wood that are sold to be made into a product manufactured goods- making goods from raw materials on a large scale Parliament – the law making body of Great Britain Debt – money that is owed

Unit 3 - Vocabulary proclamation -the act of saying something public or officially resentment – a feeling of anger about someone or something that is unfair civil disobedience – refusing to obey laws that are considered unfair without becoming violent

Unit 3- Vocabulary boycott - ●not buying goods from a country ●a form of protest ●civil disobedience revenue – income generated from the sale of goods liberty – another word for freedom

Unit 3 – Vocabulary unalienable rights - life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (John Locke) red coat – another name for British soldeirs loyalists – opposed the Declaration & remained loyal to KG3 patriots – individuals seeking freedom from KG3

Unit 3 – Vocabulary propaganda -information used to help or harm a group or movement repeal – to take back merchant – a person who buys and sells intolerable – something that you can’t stand Coerce – to make someone do something by force

Unit 3 Vocabulary coerce - to make someone do something by force aresnal – a place to store guns and ammunition ratify – to approve amend – to make a change to something impose – to “put on” by authority
