Who is the most artistic in the group? Who considers himself the best critical thinker? Who thinks they are the best psychologist? Who is good at helping other people?

As you are reading “Hills Like White Elephants” pay attention to the descriptions of the setting. Draw the setting of this story on the entire front side of a sheet of computer paper—use color to help illustrate the landscape. Show finished product to group. Draw conclusions as to what the setting symbolizes.

You are to play “detective.” Find clues and draw a conclusion as to what “the operation” is in the story. Find evidence as to what the theme of this story is. Share your findings with the group. Continue searching until your group is in agreement.

Create a T-Chart and gather evidence about the man and the girl. Analyze their relationship with each other? Is it a healthy one? How do they feel about each other? About themselves? Is this a relationship that will stand the test of time?

Your task is to do just that. Figure our which team member(s) needs the most help and do what you can to assist them. Help draw, help gather evidence, help analyze. HELP!
