5. GED® Skill Workbooks Inventory and Study Planner T AKE I NVENTORY OF SKILLS Read the directions and encourage students to answer every question to the best of their abilities. You have permission to copy the answer grid for student use. Administer the inventory as an untimed test. The main purpose is to get an idea of knowledge gaps – both in content and skills. Explain that at the end of the test students will use the results to see what skills they need to focus on. 1 2 2

Students fill in study planner to target both content skills and thinking skills needed to pass the GED Tests. R IGHT P AGE Practice Questions Explain that the GED-type questions ask them to do more than “look up” an answer. As on the actual test, questions require them to apply, analyze, or evaluate information. Students answer the questions, check answers and read explanations. T IP Students may not see the benefit of supporting their answers. Encourage them to provide support by explaining that this strategy will help them to focus on the question and to think through the answer choices.
