The course covers six units of study Unit One: Exploring Planet Earth - Mapping, Rocks and minerals Unit Two: Inside the Earth- Plate Tectonics, Earthquakes, Volcanoes Unit Three: Earth’s Changing Surface Weathering, Soil Formation Erosion, Geologic Time, Energy Resources Unit Four: Earth’s Waters- Fresh Water, Ocean Waves, Tides, Chemistry, Zones Unit Five: Weather and Climate - Atmosphere, Storms, Climate Weather Unit Six: Astronomy Earth, Moon, Sun, Stars, Galaxies, Solar System, Universe

What students can expect in each chapter. Teacher produced note packet. Review and reinforcement worksheet packet. Guided reading and study workbook pages. Textbook chapter assessment. Hands-on Laboratory experience or video Laboratory experience.

Grading: Exams = 50% Quizzes and Labs = 30% Homework = 20% Example: Exam Average: 94% x 50% = 47 Quizzes and Lab Average: 90% x 30% = 27 Homework Average: 100% x 20% = 20 Marking Period Grade: 94% Note: Extra-credit will NOT be given
