ORDER OF THE ARROW ECHOCKOTEE LODGE NORTH FLORIDA COUNCIL #87 BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA 3 Commitment to Outdoor Program Long-term In-Council campers: decreased somewhat. –Summer Camp attendance down at Camp Bunn How the Lodge promoted Camp Bunn: –Hosted Leaders Dinner in November 2008 –Agreed to support Camp-a-Looza in lue of Leaders Dinner for 2009. – The OA also promoted at First Aid Meet and concurrent with Unit Elections 12 Camp Bunn Staff members Active in OA OA members also at Cub Scout Day Camp and Resident Camp Lead Webelos Woods encampment. ORDER OF THE ARROW ECHOCKOTEE LODGE NORTH FLORIDA COUNCIL #87 BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA 4 Dedicated Service 3,868 hours of service (12% increase) –10.8 hours per Arrowman Summer Camp activities –Ice cream social, call-outs; Brotherhood promotion weekly. 3 service weekends to support Camp Illinek and Camp Bunn –57 new Arrowmen –Projects included: preparing Camp Bunn for season, clearing brush at Camp Illinek, staining benches, making new trails, splitting wood. Camps Ordeals Workdays Council Press visibility to Webelos Woods Community Patriotic service in retirement of US Flags. Order of the Arrow Illinek Lodge Abraham Lincoln Council Boy Scouts of America

ORDER OF THE ARROW ECHOCKOTEE LODGE NORTH FLORIDA COUNCIL #87 BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA 5 Dedicated Service Webelos transition –Webelos Woods 2009: 166 Webelos Scouts and parents attended; JOTA & JOTI offered (17 countries, 8 states contacted by 36 Webelos) –988 Hours of Service Offered services at New Cub Scout Day Community Service –One Day of Service: 2,025 (+250 from 2008) flags retired; Lodge worked with scouts and Arrowmen from all three districts. –536 Hours of Service Order of the Arrow Illinek Lodge Abraham Lincoln Council Boy Scouts of America

ORDER OF THE ARROW ECHOCKOTEE LODGE NORTH FLORIDA COUNCIL #87 BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA 7 Leadership Development Elangomat and Unit Election Team training in the spring 22 attendees LLD in the fall also 17 attendees –Dynamics of leadership, Event Planning, Communications, Troop Representative Lodge Presence at the: –Council level - Lincoln Pilgrimage (trail end snacks) –District levels - Cub Scout days Section and National trainings –2 Attended Section Conclave in Wisconsin –3 Youth & 2 Adults Attended NLS –19 Arrowmen Attended 2009 NOAC Order of the Arrow Illinek Lodge Abraham Lincoln Council Boy Scouts of America Conclave participation impacted by site selection distance & cost. Filled NOAC quota and two additional slots added later.

Continue to struggle getting members to pay dues in timely manner. Total membership –357 active Arrowmen in the lodge 125 Ordeal (57 new) 163 Brotherhood (36 new) 69 Vigil (10 new) Ordeal to Brotherhood conversion rate –34.6% in 2009 (same as 2008) Implemented OA LodgeMaster membership system offered by National Committee Order of the Arrow Illinek Lodge Abraham Lincoln Council Boy Scouts of America

ORDER OF THE ARROW ECHOCKOTEE LODGE NORTH FLORIDA COUNCIL #87 BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA 9 Quality Lodge Performance Quality Lodge for the Fourth Consecutive Year Explore Electronic Newsletter Freshen annual schedule and implement “Fun” Illinek Lodge achieved Quality Lodge for four consecutive years Strengths (annually)- –Service to Bunn and Illinek, newsletters, Webelos transition, website accuracy Improvement shown- –Brotherhood conversions, member retention Opportunities (a.k.a. weaknesses)- –Troop representative program, ceremonies, renewal of membership dues. ORDER OF THE ARROW ECHOCKOTEE LODGE NORTH FLORIDA COUNCIL #87 BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA 12 Impact on Council Program Service: $77,360 (value of labor) Camping Promotions: $1,100 –Leaders’ Dinner, etc Funds donated: $1145 –Stain, building material, etc Camp Bunn Firebowl: –Phase 2 starts in 2010 Order of the Arrow Illinek Lodge Abraham Lincoln Council Boy Scouts of America Service based on $20 / hour rate suggested by National Committee on advice of US Forest Service Saved funds to complete Firebowl project in 2010.

Training opportunities –Lodge Leadership Development, Section C-3C Conclave, National Leadership Seminar, and NOAC Developing future leaders 17 Arrowmen attended LLD Section Had representatives at every COC meeting Hosted new C-3B COC in Springfield National Sent 5 Arrowmen to NLS Order of the Arrow Illinek Lodge Abraham Lincoln Council Boy Scouts of America
