Economic Impact Key Results Total economic impact of New York City’s cruise industry in 2014 was $196.8 million Passengers and crew spent an estimated $ 137.4 million while ashore in 2014 Embarking Passengers: $113.5 million Transit Passengers: $ 4.5 million Crew: $ 19.4 million Overall, average spending per passenger & crew was $228 Highest among all continental US ports (2 nd only to Honolulu) Passengers with an overnight stay spent an average of $456 during their two-night stay $195 for lodging $94 for food & beverage NYCruise 2014 Economic Impact Study

Ship Calls After increasing by 48% from 2009 through 2011, total cruise ship calls have fallen by 24% through 2014 as newer and larger ships have been deployed in New York. These new ships include the Carnival Splendor and Norwegian Breakaway. These two ships have 4,000+ capacity and accounted for 46% of the calls and 63% of passenger embarkations in 2014.
