4. EAST INDIAN BHAVAN Promoting East Indian Culture and Tradition The East Indian bhavan structure will be approx 15,000 sq.ft. situated on a land area of about 1 to 2 acres. It will consist of 2 main areas of about 4000 sq. ft. each. East Indian Auditorium - It will have a capacity to accommodate around 500 people. This area will be used for various cultural programmes of our community. It will be acoustically prepared for the screening of movies as well as cultural programmes. East Indian Museum : This area will showcase the original living style of our community. Articles used by our ancestors down the ages will be displayed in this area along with the original names of the various articles used. There will also be photographs and write ups of prominent East Indian community members displayed and also pictures of any significant events that our community or individuals had participated in. The museum will mainly focus on the rich culture and heritage of the people of our community. East Indian Restaurant - This will be with a kitchen facility which will cater to only our indegenous East Indian cuisine. East Indian Conference Room - It will have a seating capacity of around 10 to 15 people which can be used for discussing the various meetings organized by our community. East Indian Offices - A couple of office/administrative areas will also be included to look after the functioning of the Bhavan and will also cater as a central place for any East Indian who requires assistance. Overall, TheEast Indian Bhavan will be a place wherein the East Indian people can identify as their own, on a land in the city of Mobaim.
