2  1969: AMD founded by former executives.  1972-1974: AMD goes public with their first manufacturing facility.  1976-1978: Cross-license agreement signed with Intel.  1981: Sales doubled since 1978 and components in space.  1982: Second source for the 8086 and 8088 CPU’s.  1985: AMD sales reach their highest point.  1986: Memory market and time for a change.  1991: AMD gives Intel a challenge with the Am386 chip.  1993: Am486 and flash memory.  1994: Agreement with Compaq, New headquarters, law suit finalized.
