Transforming Youth from Victims to Social Entrepreneurs www.pnys.com

 We have pioneered the concept of youth service and youth social entrepreneurship in the country.  We train and engage youth and youth-serving institutions in designing and implementation of youth-led service projects/micro social enterprises.  We provide an effective mechanism to youth to re-integrate into the society as active- citizens and not as citizens-in-waiting.

 There is a youthquake in Pakistan, as 70% of the total population is under the age of 29.  There are no separated programs or policies for disadvantaged, half-educated, socially-excluded youth in Pakistan.  Enormous talent, intelligence and positive energy are being wasted as these young people are being left behind.  Millions of young people are growing up without any hope and desire in life and are falling into disaster’s way.

Existing PlayersOur Organization Focus on the deficits /problems of young people (Problem free youth). We see engaging youth in deliver y of services as a method for youth development as well as contributing to national development. We believe that problem free is good but fully-prepared youth is much better. Existing Players interventions are single domain. Our program is a multiple domain program. It includes several social domains such as youth, family and community. A female youth led literacy center is used as a primary setting for effective positive change in other social domains.

 In the words of Ms. Susan Stroud, CEO Innovations in Civic Participation “In a country where youth comprise more than three quarters of the population, where the cost of NOT creating meaningful opportunities is felt the world around, I can safely say that there is no youth service program on the global scene that has more promise than the PNYS. “

Young people have the potential to change their communities. They lack only the support of their elders to do it.
